Hi Guys,

This is my first post to Hi-FiVison.

I bought the Boston accoustics Soundware XS Digital Cinema last week from CROMA store in Wakad(Pune), at a price of 13000, I am very much satisfied with the performance of the speaker system considering the price. The product was initially launched for 45000 in India, but I guess now it is a discontinued product and hence there is a price drop.

I have not come accross any negatives yet, but would like to share the below + points based on 1 week usage.

1. Compact Speaker system
2. Deep bass, sufficient for my room size 11*17 (Living Room)
3. Satellite look stylish and sound clear
4. I watch Tata Sky HD channels using RCA out from my TV, and the sound quality is extremely rich, especiailly English movies HD channels
5. Remote control was easily paired with my TV remote
6. Can play songs from my Ipad using Bluetoth
7. Connected by DVD player sound o/p via Optical Cable(included), the sound quality was better as it was digital
8. Dolby digital sound

I would like to recommend this speaker for people looking for compact budget 2.1 Home theater .

If the speakers has an optical in, instead of using RCA out of the TV you can use Tata Sky's optical out to the speakers and you'd get better sound. Congratulations on the purchase.

Congratulations on your Purchase.

Would like know whether the sub woofer can be directly connected to a Receiver?
Planing to go for a 5.1 and to use XS Digital Cinema Sub as 5.1 sub. Is it possible?

Thanks Kneo, my tata sky HD box dosen't have a optical out, i had bought it in 2010, it has a coaxial o/p.

Hi Gangasjith,

The subwoofer dosen't have a input, it cannot be connected to a external receiver, it has an inbuilt amplifier.

I picked these up last week to have some music around the breakfast table. I can't say I've been completely satisfied yet although it does seem to be getting better. Initially, the sound seemed slightly muffled, the highs weren't sparkling, the mids seemed recessed and the bass was wooly. After a week, the speakers are opening up a bit and this morning it sounded much better than before. I'm hoping it will keep getting better and live up to the reviews.

I have to say that the Bluetooth option is extremely convenient, although fiddly to get started. The sound obviously degrades but as a quick way to get some music playing, it's super.

I got an additional thousand bucks off by buying on a Wednesday with a Citibank card so it came to 12K. I've not heard the Klipsch or the Corsair so I can't comment on how it compares.

I have heard of this speaker needing some burn in time.I have bought a corsair sp2500 for now, looking spec wise it seems to be better. Till a good surround.
