Hi guys, I own denon avr x1000 and using a pair of dali Zensor 1 for front left & right. I'm thinking of buying the surround channels first. Would these boston acoustics xs satellites justify the surround channel duties? Or should I save some and invest in bookshelves? Anyone using the same kind of setup?
Please suggest.

Hi

If you are using Dali's in the front, would suggest you go for Boston Bookshelf speakers rather than the XS satellites. It would blend better. End of the day it is upto what appeals to you in appearance, performance and budget.

I use the XS satellites 5.1 speakers and they do perform well.

hi efernand1,
thank you for your suggestion, i just have one query.
Does this xs satellites capable enough to create a good surround field? i fear the sweet-spot would become too limited. i do have space constraints too. For using bookshelves, i need to invest in stands also.

Just save the money and go for Dali zensor 5 fronts. don't mix up 6 ohms speakers with 8 ohms speakers.

Hi Nero9,
I dont have the space to accommodate Fs and I'm tight on budget too. Budget is max 20k for bookshelves + stands or some good wall mountable satellites.

Check q acosutics 2010

Q Acoustics 2010 Compact Bookshelf Speaker (Pair)

When you have Zensor 1 and Denon x1000, don't thing about satellites mate. go for bookshelf's atleast.

Still, i recommend you to get a pair of zensor 1 only.

check wharfedale 10DFS for surrounds. They are dipole speakers so you will get good sound stage around the room and are in your budget (<20K @ hifimart). Also aesthetically they look good when wall mounted unlike bookshelves. So it's a win win situation. A big NOOOO for satellites. All the best.

What about polk audio owm 3 ?? anyone using them as surrounds?? it has got multiple wall mounting options and compact too.
