Specs looks impressive and with all those accessories its a blast for 7K. Let us know your user feedback once you set it up.

Good buy for 7K. You can try the latest firmware from the measy website. You could also install YAMJ on it. Just follow the guide I posted in the Himedia Ownership thread.

Good find dude. I would be eager to know how effective and usable the LED screen on this is. Would be great to get something like this playing instantly without switching on the tv, much like the squeezebox touch with its display.

Got it yesterday..
Works fine.. Plays all the files my WDTV did not play (due to header compression).. PQ is same..

There is one big nuisance though.. The up/down keys in the remote changes my music-hall amp's source input and volume.. These buggers have reused some keys from other manufacturer's apparently..

I mean what are the odds it should be music-hall of all the things?? :s :s Crazy!!

Cannot configure with my harmony remote also due to this.. :(

This one is going back..!!

The Remote they have given is a universal remote. I have no trouble with it though.

Yeah I know..
But the arrow keys are not universal..
I haven't configured it also..

Its like when browzing folder, the amp keeps changing the source.. Not usable atall.. I could have lived with any other problem though.. :(

Why don't you use the WiFi dongle, use a wireless mouse, and throw the remote away?

Cheers

There are only 2 usb ports.. If I use wifi dongle and wireless mouse, I wont have a port to connect my external HDD.. :D
Should go for internal then.

Hey hows the display ? is it usable for example for reading through songs library, playlist etc.

btw you can get a NAS so you dont need to connect physically to an HDD :)

You need to use only one USB port on the player to connect the mouse. The other will be free for your HDD.

Cheers

How is the GUI of x6?

Any comparisons with the other media players your own?

Can it display cover art and tags of flac files?

The GUI was good. Initially it was outputting 480i and I changed to 1080p..

Iam using WDTV. Compared to that the navigation was little bit slow.. Remote was a bit cheap but did many functions unlike the puny WDTV remote.. Configuring my harmony would have solved the problem..

The sterio downmixing sound through HDMI had low volume.. But later found that they had a firmware update for it.. X6 firmware, version: V2.02--Measy Electronics - Measy Eletronics Co.,Ltd.
I did not install because, by that time I decided to send back.
The remote is also universal and has backlight..

It displays cover art the same way it is mentioned in the site.. But you need to rename the files same as the movie name..

Coaxial is mentioned in the specs but not found in the device.

Nothing bad except that the remote signal interfers with other components.. This device is the least expensive in my hifi chain to be allowed to do anything like that to the other components which are multiple times costly.

@Blasto Did you have a chance to evaluate the SQ? I wonder if I can use it as a DAC for my audio library of MP3s and FLACs stord on a USB drive. Or should I look for a better DAC that can play MP3s and FLACs off a USB drive.

Hi,

I am impressed by the specs and the feedback. A couple of concerns though. How is the post-purchase support in India? Also, I was looking for an inbuilt HDD (minimum 1TB), but X6 doesn't seem to have one. Internal HDDs are selling at 6k or more owing to the floods. I'll end up spending 13-14k, and I'll have to keep tab of 2 warranties from 2 manufacturers. Any suggestions?
