Dear All,

Budget : 1 to 1.25 L
Room size : 20 by 14 feet living with dining attached extra
Video : LG 65 C8
Content type : Netflix Series, Occasionally Movies and more often Music
Used\New : Used preferred
Currently Using : Modded MX5021. This purchase is being postponed for years due to time now and subsequently the listening has come down.

Looking for a good 2.0 Setup for now; with upgrading to 5.1 later if the need is felt. Like a bit warm sound stage. I auditioned PMC floor standers in hifimart exhibit in Bengaluru and really liked it.

Looking for recommendations and suggestions and a bit of hand holding from the experienced gurus here. I am based out of Bengaluru.

1. Amplifier? 2.0 or beyond?
2. Floor standers or Wireless Sixes?
3. Where to buy used? Grey? (Apologies)

regards,
kpp

Avr’s used and grey will save u a lot of cash. Go with tower speakers.

Thank You... Any suggestions on pairing and options?

Looking for warm; wide sound stage; at times relaxed listening at night sort of combo.

If you are absolutely sure that 2.0 will suffice for the next few years opt for a stereo setup.
- a pair of towers or standmounts for speakers (choose wisely here)
- an integrated amp with a built-in DAC with about 50-80W per channel
- a sub (added later) to boost LFE for movies and sub-bass for movies
For a budget of 1.00-1.25L you may look at:
- speakers as per your ear/room choice
- Marantz NR1200 or Peachtree Decco as your amp

If you want the option to start with 2.0 and then expand to x.y.z then opt for an AVR
- speakers again should appeal to your ears/room
- an AVR like Marantz NR15xx or 16xx series

Audition as may setups as possible before arriving at a decision.
Bengaluru has many dealers where you can get a good idea of whats out there in today's market.
Then come back here and look at the for sale section or HiFiMart.
Cheers,
Raghu

Please give your room dimension (upload a pic) to help suggest better.

Eidt: just noticed that it is 20 X14. Sorry. A pic would be helpful

Dynaudio Emit M20 book shelfs with stands
Nuprime STA9 Poweramp
Paradigm PW Link streamer.

Do read up on these. Streamer can be used as a preamp, has all the latest streaming support, great DAC and inbuilt ARC Room correction. Can control the streamer from the phone by DTS Play Fi app.

Just the kind of sound signature you are hoping for.

If you are planning to watch movies and would like to have the option of upgrading to 5.1 or 7.1, then go for AVR.
If there is no such plan, you can buy stereo setup.

When it comes to speakers you need to audition as many as possible with selected set of music content so that you will be able to differentiate.

For Polk and KEF, you can visit Profx
For Sonodyne, SVS, Taga Harmony you can visit The Home Cinema (THC) Electronic City
For Focal you can visit DNI
For Klipsch you can visit Cinebels

I believe The Home Cinema also got Polk and KEF. Call the dealers before visiting so that you know what models are available in demo.

For AV Receiver, you can consider Marantz 1609, available at good price now.
If only music and you want single integrated unit with CD capability you can consider Marantz M-CR 612
If you like sonodyne signature, you can consider Sonodyne stereo amp as well.
