Hi guys.
I am about to purchase a 46 inch Led tv (Samsung 49eh5000).
Now i know that the Tv itself does not have very good speakers. So i wanted to add my own to this TV.

I shall be taking input from TATA sky HD+ and my PC, via HDMI.

Please suggest the best Home theater system there is (Sony/LG/Samsung/Philips) for around 10k-11k...NO MORE!! :) my budget wont allow more...

I am looking for something that can either take in HDMI, with decent decoding capabilities, or take in optical IN(my tv would have an optical OUT.)

I know these brands come nowhere near the professional ones(I myself own a denon 1312xp HTiB, and i know what wonders a simple professional audio sutep can do, but my budget wont allow it)

Also, if you have some alternative digital audio solution for 10K(NO MORE), then please do suggest.....

Please guys....those who own such systems, do come forward and help me out. Do tell advantages/disadvantages of the above mentioned brands over each other, if possible.....

THANXX!!

Also, now i was thinking that if there aren't any HT setups for 10k with multiple HDMI in, i'll have to either connect the tv to the HT with optical cable(which is the only audio out available), or setup a very complicated system with multiple audio connections, having to change inputs in the tv and the HTS every time i have to change the source, which is not such a lucrative idea.....

Now I also read that the optical out system might be problematic, what with the possibility of the TV downgrading 5.1 to 2.0, rendering my HTS useless.

Am i better off buying a pair or great 2.1 speakers, and connect them using 3.5 mm jack/or optical.

Is there anything like "GREAT" 2.1 speakers??

This system is only for casual watching. Surround is not important. I was anyways going to place the 5.1 speakers in a row below the TV....

You are not going to get any HT setup in the said budget. But a good 2.1 setup should be feasible. I have personally tried hooking up 2.1 setup to the stereo out of my LED TV - but the output levels will still be low.

You will be needing a 2.1 setup with optical inputs for you to draw it from your LED.

Some of the below 2.1 setups would work- provided you can get hold of them here. They seem to be just in the range you are expecting !

Amazon.com: Antec Soundscience Rockus 2.1: Electronics

Onkyo HTX22HDX 2.1 Surround Sound Home Theater System | P. C. Richard & Son

Even a sound bar should work- if you like them.

Cheers !

Which 2.1 or sound bar did you buy?

Guys, any more suggestions for speakers, sound bars etc for LED tv within 10-12k budget?

I never bought a sound bar- I said I tried hooking 2.1 set ups and they never sounded great.

The options I gave you would work with out a hitch!

It is mentioned this is for casual watching and no need for 5.1 surround. Rather than looking for a HT why not invest that 10,000 in getting the TV with best audio quality. Almost all TVs come with multiple input, so the problem of connecting many devices at same time also will be addressed. If a serious HT setup is required, budget needs to be raised suitably.

Samsung HT-E350K for 9k...full 5.1...with ARC support....dont go for soundbar...lg,samsung,sony htib are not so bad....so get sammy one with HDMI ARC....if u hav tv with arc

At this budget, considering you wont get any audiophile kind of products/brands, probably better to look for higher/mid end of mass branded manufacturers - like F&D F6000, Edifier DA5000 Pro. While it would be a compromise in many ways, for the money it is the best bang for your buck.
F6000 is currently available at Sulekha.com for Rs. 6199/- (MRP is almost 10K) and seems like a good deal. They do come with some good reviews...check out - Review of the F&D F6000 5.1 channel sound system with remote control | Affordable Product Review.
All the best!
