Hi guys,

I am looking for some nice bookshelf speakers for my new setup. I have a max budget of 20K for them. These will be driven by a Technics Sl-D3 TT and a NAD 304 phono integrated amp.

I tried the used market sections but am not sure on what's on offer. I have an offer of BOSE interaudio SA-500 (for 20K) and Acoustic Energy aesprit 300 (20K). I am not sure about these... any suggestions?

I'd like to explore the new speaker market and would really appreciate if you can suggest some good BS in the budget.

p.s - I will be listening to stereo music only, mainly Hindustani, some classic rock, classical western and easy listening pop. Nice tight bass, pure mids and good imaging needed.

Please advice..

Hi

There is a thread on speaker price list....top of my mind can recommend Boston Bookshelfs...or Cambridge Audio SX50s.....

The other day I visited TELOME AUDIO in Bandra Mumbai and I was I impressed with their Bookshelfs which are 8 inch and 1 inch Dome Tweeters....75 W RMS 8 ohms load...sound was excellent....good tonal balance...You could also look at Norge Audio...

It all depends on what appeals to you and your budget.....

I have looked through the pricelist thread. Just wanted some advice on speakers known for the musicality. Thanks for the tips. Do you know if the SX50 is better than S30?

my suggestions,

wharfedale diamond 121
boston acoustics a26
q acoustics 2020i (my favourite)

below rss20000 , cambridge audio s30

Thanks Suresh,

The A26 is in my budget, but am not sure how they sound. I will have to audition them. I have always liked the Wharferdales, and they are just on the limit. I prefer their warmth. 2020i is over my budget, but maybe I will still check them out. Let me see.
Do you know if the S30 is better than SX50s.... they are certainly cheaper. Any idea?
Thanks for your help.

N

i heard s30 but not sx50.. in my opinion , for the asking price.. s30 is very nice.. if you need just good sound not the different quality then go with s30..

but you wish something different quality than very budget speaker then go with wharfedale diamond 121 (rs.20-22k ) or q acoustics 2020i..

if you need just warm sound , boston acoustics a26 is is smoother.. and bigger drive than others.. so you may get bit bigger sound..

i owned q acoustics 2020i and i loved for its clear un coloured midrange performance.. bass is perfect but not boomy.. for my taste q acoustics is my favour.

if you wish bass sound , go with wharfedale diamond 121.. it also very nice..

if your room is bigger , then go with boston acoustics a26..

you cant go wrong with any of the mentioned speakers.. all are award winning speakers..

IMO Acoustic Energy makes good speakers. Though they are not well known in India. Where are you getting aesprit 300 ? Audition & then decide.

Wharfedale Linton Heritage Speakers in Walnut finish at a Special Offer Price. BUY now before the price increase.
