using a mass market Sony/Philips mini HiFi system with digital output and then adding on a quality DAC later on. For example, I was looking at this for a Diwali purchase: MHC-GZR77D : Mini Hi-Fi System : Hi-Fi System : Sony India
The advantage I see is that I get decent speakers, a cassette player deck (I do have quite a good stock in my collection) and a decent after sales service.
What do you guys suggest?
Does this player has digital out?
I feel treansports of these players are BAD ,and ditto about mass market DVDs
Looking at your initial budget this will not give any good sound IMHO
What I am assembling is I have got Pioneer 101 CD changer with Digital out ( PD-F 957) and Valob NOS DAC. I read decent reviews about this changer ( BTW planning to Sell it)
also Have a Apple airport express so planning to wirelessly stream music over WIFI..This is WIP.
In mumbai I saw TEAC CD player with Co axial out for 3-4 K ,,.Planning to buy it some days
I feel transport is important ,In fact many econdhand dealers are buying 5+ year old pioneer DVD players as they always say that it is good for music too.
