Buy TV now or wait for christmas/New year offers?

It makes no sense to wait for the "next good opportunity". Because, there is no such thing as a next good opportunity. A better opportunity is always in coming. So if you get a good deal by current price and feature standard, take it.
Marketing geniuses would like you to believe they are offering so and so discount and stuff in the name of festival and such. But they don't. They really don't. Make a note of any festival discount that you think is good. Go shopping with cash with the knowledge of the price and knock a dealer down with your knowledge. If you show the cash, you can always get an as good a deal even if there are no promotions running.
Remember, it's always the dealer who pays for any promos in the end. So it won't hurt him to offer the same discount post the offer period to make a good sale.
This will work most of the time, if not all the time.

The only TVs that are sold at discount are the ones which are last year's models, non-moving items, etc. I waited for 2 years for a "good" price and ultimately purchased when I could wait no more. I was lucky to buy 50ST50 in July-2012. Those who waited for Dusshera/Diwali/Christmas/New Year discounts did not get the TV as it disappeared from the shelves.
we cant say the same for all situations.I got the w900 tv on june 2013 and bought a bd player separately.But for the diwali offer they gave 4100 bd player free with w900 tv. same for 64f8500 they offered airtrack free.if u dont find stocks mean its ur bad luck.normally other than pana tvs you can book tvs and get later with waiting time.
I just spoke to a local dealer and he said till the end of this month they are still giving the free gift along with purchase of Samsung product. Availability is based on stock, otherwise you need to pay and wait for 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. Price is a bit higher than the one on Diwali but you still get the free gift which is a bonus.
So if you are planning to buy better to pick it up before end of this week specially if its a samsung product.

but its also matter of fact the bundled product is really usable or not.
