Buying tvs online!!

Hi I m a newbie in this forum but had been a passive reader.The posts here are very useful.I am planning to buy a 40" LED TV had checked prices from different stores here ,alongwith that I checked the prices online (letsbuy.com,infibeam.com)as well and to my surprise the price difference between stores and online is worth mentioning.My question is why is it so and how safe is it to order tv online.Had anyone bought it frm sites like infibeam and letsbuy pls share.

I know Flipkart is very reliable with their shipping.

Letsbuy has been known to cause delays and/or keep customers hanging for weeks without shipping out their orders.

However, even though it's a little laid back in comparison to flipkart, I still order stuff from Letsbuy considering the offers and discounts they have. Out of the 8 products I've ordered from them, only 1 order had to be cancelled (Batman Arkham City).

The odds aren't too shoddy.

Not sure if they offer COD for tele's, but if they do, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Just make sure you check to see if it's a new product before you pay them. There have been a couple of instances where people have received demo products, albeit accidentally.

Hi! I ordered a Toshiba 32" LCD from Letsbuy on COD and they called me the next day to confirm the order. It took them exactly 4 working days post the confirmation to deliver it to my Pune address. They sent it by BlueDart & accepted cash at the same time. No probs whatsoever.

The next order was for a Benq Digicam which was confirmed the 3rd day on phone. It was a COD order aswell. After a week I got a call from them stating that the model wasn't available and they offered me an upgraded model at the same price (diff of price on their site was 50% between the 2 models). The upgraded model was delivered to me a week after that.

Hope this helps. My personal 2 bits; it worth the wait and they offer manufacturer's warranty. Do use the coupon code iluvletsbuyem to get a flat 5% off if the order value is substantial orelse use a diff coupon code. Cheers!
