Can 100/200 Hz LED TV be used as 3D TV using HTPC?

This may sound odd but wanted to check how things work.

Can 100/200 Hz LED TV be used as 3D TV using HTPC?
 
Short answer no! It needs to support 100Hz input for 3D to work. Most 100/120Hz TVs (mine included!) don't accept 100Hz input.
 
+1, virtually NONE of the 3D TVs irrespective of their ADVERTISED refresh rate, don't accept beyond 60Hz (or 75Hz for lower PC resolution). This might be more to do with HDMI limitations (we need dual link DVI to go beyond such refresh rates and resolution).

No Samsung, LG, Sony TVs even when they advertise 400 or 800Hz refresh rates accept beyond these refresh rates and that's the IRONY!
