Chasme Baddoor 1981-2013

I'm happy to know that people in today's generation prefer the original Chashme Buddoor.
I'd thought that people these days like the remake more

WOW.. good to see young folks here. am guessin you are the youngest one here . welcome to the forum and am sure between the crowd of us mad people no one prefer crappy new movies.

:D

^ Thanks a lot!

My friends laugh at me when I say that I prefer original versions of crappy remakes (eg. Gol Maal, Chashme Buddoor, etc.) :-P

Basically, I enjoy, appreciate, cherish everything from the golden era (50s-early 80s)

I even listen to the songs of the 40s and 50s. ;)

How many of us think that it was an insult to depict Deepti Naval's sweet, ravishing, evergreen, beautiful, simple, cute, innocent and perfect role as that fat, ugly, perverted, expressionless and "horrible-in-all-spheres" actress in the remake?

The same for the three wonderful (original ) actors?

Agree, there was a hype about "Hum Dono" after "Mughal-E-Azam" release and that time I thought may be from now we will get many hindi movie gems in color. But unfortunately no luck :( even I was not expecting such average earning for SHOLAY 3D. That's why producers are not showing their interests in making Color or 3D versions of some gems.

I don't think colorization should be done unless its like that of "Naya Daur". Naya Daur looked really good, not garish, unlike that of Mughal-E-Azam and Hum Dono which look like they have been painted.

Cropping is another sad part, which was done in case of Naya Daur and Hum Dono (1.78:1 & 2.35:1 respectively). You get chopped off heads and the cinematography gets screwed up.

Even replacement of the original music (in case of Hum Dono and Naya Daur) by re-recording the soundtrack and barely retaining any of the originals. (Sholay 3D too suffered this). Whereas in Mughal-E-Azam, the re-recorded part was like an enhancement to the original sound.

Unless the originality is maintained, I wouldn't agree with I.

Moreover, I treat colorized and 3D movies (the ones I described above) as completely different movies themselves.
