Choosing Between Amazon and ProFX for Denon AVR-X2800H: Warranty and Price Considerations

I have the LX-505 and am very happy with this. Spacious sound, easy installation and best of all for me was Dirac Live full bandwidth was included ( otherwise costs $350 ). Using Dirac completely changed the way my system sounded. Plus they’re offering 18 month warranty on Onkyo/Pioneer vs 12 months on Denon

I use a Pioneer LX302. Large and spacious sound with the only weakness being room correction. With Dirac included Pioneer will be better than most AVRs

I have purchased the receiver and speaker set from ProFx directly; they gave a very good offer.

Findings from research:

1. Denon has two importers in India: PTC and ProFx.
2. PTC retailers provide more discounts than ProFx retailers. For example, the price variation for the Denon 2800H was at least 15K.
3. PTC retailers do not provide any official service center address. Instead, they either pick up the product from you or you need to take the product to the retailer, who will then send it to the service center.
4. According to ProFx retailers, "PTC retailers bring the product to ProFx service centers for repairs. This is a gamble they play, as there typically won't be any repairs needed in the first year. After the first year, they aren't responsible for anything." This was also confirmed by one of the PTC retailers.
5. PTC retailers are not offering the latest manufactured products (December 2023).

I bought my Denon X3800H from a PTC retailer in Rohtak (Haryana). I required service for the same recently (in-warranty) in Mumbai. Both the PTC number mentioned on the box & the retailer gave me the contact details of the same service center in Mumbai. Though the service was carry-in, I faced no other issues with claiming warranty.

Though I still believe that selling practices for both Denon importers (PTC & ProFX) are shady at best, I do not believe in this PTC vs ProFX argument.

I think so. They offer insanely low prices on almost everything. A few months ago I got in touch with them regarding a few purchases of speakers and other stuff. I could not believe their prices and had to travel to their store from Gurdaspur to check it myself. Then I reached back home at 2 am with Innova full of Focal 948 and corresponding CC. Now I am in touch with them regarding subwoofers and they are still offering crazy discounts.

Yes. Their prices are really good. Though I was in two minds regarding warranty coverage with such low prices, my recent warranty experience has cleared any doubts I had.

Right now I'm not able to decide between two SB3000 and a Rythmik FV15HP. I prefer tight punchy bass but sealed subs usually are found lacking in SPL for movies. Also I will be using sub in the living room and not in the dedicated home theatre.

Consider klipsch Rp series and Ascendo. Iam using ascendo in living. Heard great about klipsch Rp subs
