cinevia issue with Pioneer BDP 170

Hi All,

The watermarking menace Cinevia is wrecking havoc during playback of my favourite Blue Ray Disk. Currently am facing this problem very acutely on my Pioneer BDP 170.
Any advice as to how this can be overcome. Am getting the Cinevia Mesage Code 3 on most ocassions and as usual it kills the audio.

You would have done the latest firmware update. Original disc will not face this problem. Once you update the firmware, there is no way to remove the cinevia even if u could downgrade. Just google it and see for any custom firmware available for BDP170. I flashed my BDP450 with the custom firmware.

Actually no updates were done, but just wanted to confirm if there is a location from where I can get the firmware patch.

buy another bluray player of a different make .... cinavia message usually comes after every 20 minutes.. so after 20 minutes play the disc in the other player..after 20 minutes ... change to the older player... this is the only way i know of how you can see the movie without much hassle...

Am not sure how feasible it would be changing players every 20 mins. But the thought is innovative

Cinivia problem usually comes in pirated versions and downloads/rips.
Just google it there are some methods to prevent it .Normally u need to pause it or fast forward that portion-some times this helps.

was not askin to change the player every 20 mins its the disc to be changed to a different player...lol....but again is there any other way of seeing without the hassle of cinavia other than what i said ?.... please do share..
