I built this valve phono stage, based on the classic (1950's) Marantz 7 phono section last week.
Fully assembled kit for the phono stage and power supply is purchased from the classixaudio
The power supply module quality is top notch, it is micro controller based, switches on the heater supply first and then switches the B+, it also has a signal muting relay. Two 6.3VDC taps for heater sully and four for B+ (285VDC X 2, 265 VDC and 245 VDC)
The phonostage is dead quite even with having the MC SUT in the chain, feels like the music is painted on the completely dark canvas.
The sound signature is totally different from the solid state phono stages, it is more resolving with very clearly pronounced vocals presenting the emotion of the artist. Instruments sound very real and lifelike.
Disclaimer:
1. I have no affiliation with the designer of the phonostage
2. The above opinion is based on my own personal experience, which is subjective.
Thanks,
