Connecting my LED with my AMP

Hi friends,
Finally i recd my Norge Amp(concerto gold 1000) and Norge tower speakers over the weekend. Connected them to my old DVD player and....Bingo. Will share the experience in a different thread.
Meanwhile would like your inputs how to connect my LG LED tv (Model - 47LV3730) to the amp. The TV does not have a manual audio output. It has a optical digital audio out. People familiar with Norge would know the input - 3 input sources with manual 2 point jacks. Pl let me know how can i connect the same. Are there cables available for this.

From the specs, it looks like the TV does not have an earphone-out or any other analogue signal output.

Looks like the only way to get an audio signal out of the TV is via the Digital Audio output of the TV. You'll need a DAC for that, and that would be a bit expensive, just to get audio out of the TV.

What are the sources you use with the TV? You can always connect the analogue audio-outs of those sources to the Amp. For eg. if you've connected an STB and a DVD Player to the TV, you can connect the analogue-outs of the STB and the DVD Player to two of the free inputs of the Norge, using 2-channel RCA-to-RCA cables. (You'll have only the video-outs of the sources connected to the TV.)

The cable is called a 2-channel interconnect, but if you are asking for it in an electronic shop, you had better ask for a "2-channel RCA male to RCA male" cable.

Generic cables should be available for around Rs.30.00 in every electronic shop. MX Electronics is a good quality brand and a 1.5m cable should be about 300.00 in shops.

For connecting your STB to the Amp, a generic cable of good quality (Rs.30.00 - Rs50.00) should be good enough. You really needn't go for MX.
