Hello All,

I already have himedia 900b connected to my panny and on wifi network so of I get this other tv on network I can use it a lot more.

Cheers...

Hi,

You can use any media streaming player like Himedia or kaiboer etc

Similiar to this

http://www.amazon.com/KAIBOER-Realt...e=UTF8&qid=1428245120&sr=8-8&keywords=kaiboer

http://www.amazon.com/KDLINKS-HD720...e=UTF8&qid=1428250595&sr=8-7&keywords=kaiboer

There are lot of them available on ebay.in
Look for the ones that are from realteck chipset they are really good and can decode almost all video content.

I have been using
Kaiboer K660I 1080P HD 3D Android Network Media Player Wifi RTD1186DD Hdmi 1 4 | eBay

and its amazing and I use it to play videos downloaded on the computer connected to the media player wirelessly and can stream it wirelessly , just like connecting to a computer from another computer on the same network via file share SMB protocal. its very easy too to setup.

Hi,

Not sure if you have read my post properly, i already have Himedia900B over wifi connected to my panny65 plasma, now i have another tv in other room which is not smart tv and need to have some dongle or other to connect it to my wifi network and should be able to access himedia content, i bought chromecast which i feel was wrong decision but then not able to access the content, am still searching if any cast app which can solve my purpose or some other device.

Thanks

Sorry for not reading the complete post.
You can use this to connect and you can access the files on the himedia via wifi.

Here are some models that you can consider to achieve what you are trying to.

Latest Android Mini TV BOX Mini PC Smart TV BOX TV Media Player With Wifi | eBay

Mini PC Media Player Wifi Google Smart TV BOX Android 4 2 MK908II | eBay

Also , does your Himedia act like the main wireless accesspoint that the panasonic connect to or is the himedia connected to the home router and the panasonic also connected to the same wireless home router wirelessly and is that how you are able to access the himedia content on the panasonic??

If possible attach a network setup , that would clearly explain the setup.

Thanks.

Hi,

All my devices are connected to a wifi router based home network,

Himedia900b has builtin wifi it has connected via wifi network
Panny is connected via ethernet lan (though it can support wifi but have provision for lan)
Other devices such as BD and Apple TV too via wifi

will try both the links you have given but if i see the price point then one is around 3k which is OK but other MK is as good is media player price.

Am still trying to hook it with chromecast and if i can save else have to spend..

Thanks

I have the following setup:
1. Wireless router with 4-port gigabit ports
2. NAS/ Network hard disk connected via Ethernet to the router above. (This has all the media (movies/ songs))
3. TV
4. Raspberry Pi connected to TV via HDMI.

My Raspberry Pi is connected to same router (in point 1 above) via a long Ethernet cable.
It accesses the media via NFS share (on the hard disk).

Very simple setup. Can play virtually anything (except some very heavy duty audio found on Blue Rays).

I can attach a keyboard and mouse to my Rasberry Pi. I can use my TV's remote also to control the Raspberry Pi.

Hi,

My problem ..
How you gonna access your rasberry Pi on other tv which is not smart TV and not on your LAN/wifi network ?

or try 'www.teewe.in' may help you. I dont have experience of this product though.

Reposting here if anyone has got better solution as on date, have not googled much yet but if any break through chromecast to play my files residing on other network based media player, all on same network.

Your Raspberry Pi comes with an Ethernet port. So just connect it using standard RJ45 cable to your router.
The other option is to buy a compatible wireless adapter (USB) and connect it to the Raspberry Pi. Then you don't need the long cable (above point) anymore.

Your TV does not need to be connected to the network for you to use Raspberry Pi.

Hope that clarifies.

Hi,

So this is what I understand,

1) Either buy wireless adapter and connect to Rasperry and this both gets connected to my router wirelessly.
OR
2) Connect Rasperry to TV then will need long Ethernet cable from rasp to router

In either of above how can I access my content on media player on non-smart tv ?

My need is to see movies from media player to another TV which is not on
my network as it is not a smart tv

Cheers

1. You don't need smart TV.
2. You need Raspberry Pi and your Media Player (I use WD My Book Live as my network drive). Both these should be connected to your router.

3. TV is used just as a display in this case.
4. You can either get 2.1 channel audio out to your 2.1 speakers (if you have them) OR you can pass through in Raspberry Pi, so that the audio also goes via HDMI cable connected between RPI and the TV. In that case TV speakers will be used for audio.

Hope this helps.

Hello ghostrider
I am using ezcast dongle it's similar to chromecast but feature rich. I can stream videos photos from mobile. I can surf Internet. I can mirror my mobile screen. Builtin streaming sites support. I can even play video from my network storage.
It is compatible to Android windows and ios.
What's else anyone need.
And I really like this device. Since there no space needed for this or any power plug. Just plug in ur hdmi socket and one cable to USB socket of TV. And it's all done.

Thanks, from where can I get this, online Amazon will be good option to buy ?

Are you asking me?

In my last post, there was a typo:

>>>2. You need Raspberry Pi and your Media Player (I use WD My Book Live as my network drive). Both these should be connected to your router.

Should be read as

2. You need Raspberry Pi and your media (I use WD My Book Live as my network drive). Both these should be connected to your router.

Note: In this case Raspberry Pi *IS* acting as your media player.
