Dear FMs,

Do we have any solution to get Karaoke from a AVR without adding a dedicated Karoke system? I have seen DVD players with Karoake functionality, other than this I saw some USB Mike with Karoke.

Have anybody explored on this area? I have a Denon 1713 and it has USB and HDMI inputs.

Cheers,
Prem

There are two issues, or maybe three :-
1. Karaoke audio tracks - these may be downloaded from the internet.
2. Voice over using mic - this is available in some DVD players.
3. Lyrics on TV - this is only available in dedicated karaoke units.

After a bit of exploration, I settled for a Mediacom karaoke jukebox that I can either carry around as a stand-alone unit or use in my home connected to my TV and AVR.

Thanks nshankar, I was trying for some jugaad. Not a full dedicated box. The AVR has AUX/ USB inputs, was thinking of some way through which you can play the Karaoke audio track and mix up the voice from a mic input and output it through the normal surround speakers connected to the AVR. Not really particular about lyrics on TV.

good evening guys,
sorry for reviving a old thread.... but the kid just brought this challenge to me. Need karaoke to work with my AVR/speakers. I understand these need to be done on an external device and then feed to AVR. I have BR player, a media player, a mic, wondering if someone can suggest a cheap solution(do i need to buy a mixer).

TIA
