Hello FM's, I have a LG CX which is currently 3 years old and out of warranty. I have started noticing dead pixels on my TV around the 2 year mark and they are gradually expanding around the screen edges. Is there anyway I can get LG to honor me a one time free replacement? I would appreciate any inputs from the members of this forum who had gotten their display replaced for free after warranty for dead pixel issues.

Usage time is around 9579 hours.

Check with fmer love4sound. He got his c9 panel replaced a year or so back.

9 hours average of playtime daily.. It is end of life for any tv tbh by today's standards isn't it?

Lg rates it upto 1,00,000 hours. It completed just 10% of its claimed usage.

Modern day electronics won't last that much definitely. Try your luck though with lg, you did pay a bomb for it.

I have lg oled cx bought in 2018. After two years of usage small patch has formed at the bottom of the screen. Lg replaced the panel eventhough it was out of warranty. But that is the biggest mistake i did. In the replaced panel within 2 years lot of dead pixels has formed and also uneven black band near the top of the bezel has formed. LG denied to replace the panel. Now am using the same tv with the above defects. I think whatever the company claims or the reviewers say, OLED has their own issues

I am having the same issues, have lot of dead bars in the tv also some colored lines after 2 years of use. Oled sucks,,never going to buy again,

My Sony oled running great from 5+ years with 0 dead pixel/burn in. Now I'm considering to get a LG model to get HDMI 2.1 but reading comments like yours makes me skeptical about LG

The LG technician had suggested me to take AMC plan for 2 years which costs around ₹30000 rupees. Under this AMC plan, parts and labour will be covered and one-time free panel replacement will be provided.
free panel replacement wont work after the warranty has run its course through right?

Are you referring to the manufacturer's warranty provided at purchase or the Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC)? If the initial warranty has expired, you can still opt for the AMC, but it depends on the technician's assessment. In my case, I raised a service request after my two-year warranty expired. The technician informed me that he must mark the TV as free of defects in his service record for me to apply for the two-year AMC, which costs ₹30,000 plus ₹1,500 for inspection charges. Additionally, you can't request panel replacement immediately after obtaining the AMC; the technician advised that it would be void. You must wait four months before placing a service request.

I also have LG CX bought in 2020, still going strong with zero dead pixels

Same issue on my CX. First panel had colored line issue at the edges after 1.5 years , which was replaced. Second panel started exhibiting dead pixels within 2 years, when it was out of warranty. Now the dead pixels are spreading with time.
