Dedicated home theatre room done

IMHO I think u will need more acoustic panels on the side walls to absorb the reflecting waves from the front speakers . the current carpet seems distracting because of the designs.
for a screen i have been using a 96inch x144inch DIY screen made by fixing the regular flex cloth used for printing on a frame of aluminium channels for some 4-5years. was using a 720p panny , just last month got an epson home cinema 3000 3lcd projector from the usa. and feeling great.

Update:

So finally have updated my equipment and it's now Atmos enabled.
It's a 5.2.7 setup with Denon 3500h avr and SVS pb1000 along with BIC pl200ii subs.

Also the screen is now cinemascope aspect ratio 2.35:1 with no distracting letterboxes. It really makes difference in viewing experience.

Looks really nice.. If the screen is 21:9, that means you are not using black bars on top and bottom and rejected it from the projectors 16:9 ratio?..
thanks!
Yes. The black bars on top and bottom are spilling out on the background wall which is dark black in color, so the bars are blended in the background wall and not visible at all.

Ok great.. So you have essentially used the 21:9 picture from a 16:9 native aspect ratio projector.. The image AR is technically a 16:9.. A native 21:9 will be much wider, which should be even better.. Sadly not may projectors for home do 21:9 AR ..

Dont think it would be maintaining the intended aspect ratio if you go wider. I have calculated my 21:9 ar screen size from this online calculater. This is what i have seen many ht enthusiastics doing for wide 21:9 ar screen.

The width of my screen is almost of same width of my front wall. So this is the widest I could have gone maintaining the 21:9 aspect ratio as well. So even with the anamorphic lens projector I would have gotten the same dimensions but at much more expense.

Ok got it..

Good work. Which is the projector screen you are using, how many inches. Can you please share details.
It's a spandex fabric sourced from forum member - kanan. The diy screen frame is around 130 inches 21:9 aspect ratio. So while watching a movie with 2.35:1 aspect ratio, I don't get distracting black letterboxes.

Can you give details on how you achieved the backlit posters? Also, is there a way to dim them on start of movie?
There are many videos on diy backlit posters on YouTube, i learned from there only. You just have make a lightbox of desired size in which you would tape the cheap Chinese led strip lights. The only difference is they use double sided posters which is difficult to source here, so got the posters printed on a backlit paper locally and it is as good as double sided posters at a much cheaper cost. Also for the frame, i sandwiched the poster between two glasses and then the frame is screwed to the lightbox.
For dimming, i will be getting a wifi and alexa enabled remote sensor from Amazon and that way you can control the brightness.

How the aspect ratio conversion u r making .Is it thro panamorphic lens or by any settings in the Video player. Please share the details.

No video conversion is there for movies with 2.35/39: 1 aspect ratio. Since i have reduced the height of the screen ( width is same as earlier), the black letterboxes spill on to the wall behind the screen. As the wall is black in color the letterboxes are invisible. So instead of 138 inch diagonally (16:9) now it is 130 inch diagonally (21:9).

Since I mostly watch movies in my home theater, so it is not a problem for me as 95% of the content is in 2.35:1 ratio. For movies with 16:9 aspect ratio like justice league, the lion king, Dunkirk etc, I use Blu-ray rips and convert them to 2.35:1 ratio and then play with kodi.
I have attached few pics that show how movies with 16:9 converted to 2.35/39:1 look like below.
