Hi folks,

I need your suggestion to either go for Denon AVR1610 or Yamaha RX-V465 for my Wharfadale Diamond 9.2 Speakers?

Wharfadale Diamond 9.2 Speakers is of 100w and Denon AVR1610 supports 75w per channel and yamaha supports 105w per channel so should i prefer yamaha as it would drive wharfy speakers to its full potential?

regards,

sandeep

If you are only going for 9.2 as a stereo setup why go for AVRs why not a good marantz amp to drive them. I am sure it will beatout any AVR interms of quality.

hi kittu,

I have plans of adding up tower speakers and surround speakers later. due to budget constraint i am going for receiver and bookshelf speakers as of now.

hence i want to buy 5,1 channel AVR now for diamond 9.2.

Both AVRs shld be able to drive the speakers well..... Also there was a onkyo 577 on sale from a forum member you can check that too...

hi kittu,

I know it will drive the wharfy but i want to know which one drives better...

as denon supports 75w/ channel and yamaha 105w/channel.though we might not turn volume to max.

hi spirovious,

so do you recommend Denon over Yamaha ?? i need either of the receiver to give optimum output at medium volume...

Denon can sound loud, but may sound harsh if you push hard.I didnt here 465,but earlier models did sound better.Which one did you hear?

Hi,

I have a query with regards to the "Channel levels not getting stored" in DENON AVR1610. Let me detail my point.

My system configuration:
Denon AVR1610 hooked up with Sony Bluray and WDTV Live Media Player. When I listen to music from my WDTV Live, I switch to 2ch STEREO with specific Channel levels as per my choice. But when I watch a movie (say, a DTS source) from the same WDTV Live, I switch to MultEQ Audyssey and NEW channel levels of my choice.

My question is...when I switch between 2ch STEREO and MultEQ Audyssey with the SAME SOURCE (WDTV Live), I want to get my choice of Channel levels. But, the fact is, always the last played mode Channel levels come up. Is there any method by which I can SAVE CHANNEL LEVELS for playing 2ch Stereo and MultiEQ Audyssey from the SAME SOURCE?

I have read different forums suggesting to MEMORIZE channel levels by Quick Select. This is not the trick since the suggestion is when using TWO different sources (say Bluray & Media Player)...but I want the CHANNEL LEVELS MEMORIZED BY DENON FOR THE SAME SOURCE BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT PLAYBACK MODES.

I have seen the Channel levels getting stored in its closest sibling AVR1611.

Can anyone put some light on this issue please?

Thank you in advance...
