Hi All,

Need help in terms of reviews of the product ......

Regards
Amit

What is universal about this player ?

Does it play all region DVDs ?

Does it play all region blu-rays?

Thats what the dealer has told me.....profx site have not given the complete details about it....but i am bit sure that it plays all region DVD...
Moreover, this player can play Blu ray, sacd, dvd, dvd audio, music cd....it is also possibly called universal coz it plays all sort of Disc:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Go For Oppo or Sony one, Its a better one

On ebay Denon's MRP is 31,492.00

I would pick OPPO BDP-93 over it at 39,000 /- any day.

Or if you an casual user Sony at 10 K should suffice.

Hi Jatin,

Oppo is anytime better than Denon....but commercially there is a significant difference....
I am getting Denon @25K....i am hoping it is a good deal

Regards

Hey Amit..

I am also considering buying the Denon 1611...what to know a couple of things:

1. Is it truly a region free blu ray player?
2. Can we play media files from an external hard disk( large size, 500 gb and above i.e.)??
3. is it really worth the money?

Hi,
I dont think so that its a region free player, sure for blu ray and for DVDs as well (my doubt).

The reason i am not sure for DVD as well is that I have been using Denon 1940 CI imported from US and its locked for region 1 for DVDs. Have searched a lot to unlock it but have given up. Was told that generally Denon players are not easy to unlock. Though I am not sure about the above player but please check and make sure to avoid heart burn later.

Thanks & Regards,

Amit

its a universal player cos it plays SACD and DVD-A. Universal doesn't mean region free. If you buy it from Pro-Fx or any other authorised retailer in India it will be region locked to C for blu-rays and i guess its region free for DVDs.

For 25K (with Bill and Warr) i think its a good deal, as it will eliminate the need for a standalone CD player. But if you have that kinda budget, Oppo BDP-93 will always be a better option.

I approve of what Nindo said, the Oppo BDP-93 is an excellent option and apart from a class universal player its totally region free, if u get the region free version, meaning you can play Blu rays and DVDs irrespective of which region they belong to. But then the cost is high but its surely worth it IMHO.
