Hi,

Denon - AVR2113 [LAN]
DS411-ii [LAN] DSM 4.1-2647

When I play DTS Music (WAV) from my NAS Mediaserver or directly from NAS Disk to my Denon then I get only noise and the display stays on Stereo.
Also when I play the same from USB-stick (Denon) the problem is the same.
The Denon is supposed to recognize DTS Music, right ?

Note: Movies and Music from my Dune are okay (Bitstream mode), DTS included, but want not to use the Dune but the Denon only for the Music.

Question: Is this a Denon issue ? Missing something here ? :o

I also querying the Synology forum but still have no clue.

Thanks,
Birdy

Hi

The same happens to me; but I have found a way to play these files. I've recovered my very old CD player and connected to the AVR through the optical output. Then I have burned an Audio CD with the files and... It worked!!!

Regards

When you say its DTS,then how can it be WAV?If its 192Kz,may Denon not able to handle it from USB.

This worked for me too !

I think it is an issue with your Denon AV receiver because your saying that you were not able to play your DTS music files even through a USB stick connected directly to your AVR.

Your can try a few things and see if your Denon AVR identifies your DTS music files. First try changing the file extension of your DTS WAV from .wav to .dts and check if your AVR decodes it in DTS mode.

If that does not work then download some DTS WAV music from some site like - Nosound - Fading Silently DTS 5.1 .wav download exclusive or Free Surround Sound Music
Check if these files are identified by your AVR as DTS files by playing them through your media server and USB stick.

If nothing works then the solution suggested by Antonigon will surely work. You can burn your files as an Audio CD and play it using any player which can play audio CDs and supports bit-perfect bitstreaming.

When you say its DTS,then how can it be WAV?If its 192Kz,may Denon not able to handle it from USB.

There are DTS Audio CDs which have music encoded in DTS format in a WAV container. The idea behind placing DTS encoded files in a WAV container is
that they can be played in a normal CD player or any other player which can send a bit-perfect bitstream to an AVR/ decoder which supports DTS. The DTS content is enoded in 44.1kHz/24Bit or 16Bit.
