denon x4800h first time had burning smell

Today is the first time i felt this. Had been running it continuously since 1pm today then in the end i ran godzilla 2014 and turned off avr just now at 7pm. I have it placed inside solidsteel s2-3 av rack. Anything to worry about? Also roof of av rack where avr is also felt hot a bit

High end models do have inbuilt cooling fans but depending on the volumes playback is being used for and the number of hours, any electronics will heat up. Most AVRs have a protection circuit to shut off if overheated or some circuit issue.

I use a Marantz SR6015 which has inbuilt cooling fans, regardless I have placed Air Infinity Aircom which works really well to pull out the heat from the AVR

Whats stopping the placement of the amp on the top most shelf? Will solve all your cooling requirements. I don't agree to any fan forced cooling unless placed in a rack.

i will put centre channel on top shelf later thats what i thought before buying 3 shelves rack so that centre channel does not cut tv screen
