I have Sony KLV40v400A 40 inches LCD TV from past 4 yrs. Now some white lines were coming from past few days. So I called up the service centre and they took for repairing. Today juz now they came to my house and said the replacement charges were Rs 20700 for display panel. Now guys/techies I need some help on this:
1. Does the replacement of display panel costs so much?
2. The old display panel is not being given by the company back to me. They say they are giving me a discount on this? I wanna confirm is that really true you get discount on yr defective piece?
3. Does display panels have code in which I can really check what was the serial of my old panel and the serial for my new panel?
The serviceman says the display panel does not have codes. It comes with the same model number always. Juz help me guys with this info asap as I don wanna get cheated by these ppl. Any one of you smart in this plz help out soon.
