Dual sub setup for around 40-45k?

I was considering the bic america pl200ii but have learnt that dual sub setup is where its at. the bic is subwoofer is around 44k. Is it possible for me to get better sound by going dual sub at the same price and if so what cheaper and smaller subwoofers should I consider for a dual sub setting. Room is about 2000cu ft.
