Hi,

I have recently purchased Sony NX500 (Full HD) TV along with Airtel HD setup Box.

However when I watch Nat Geo HD channel, I am able to see the video of very high quality but without any audio.

The message displayed on tv is "Unsupported audio signal. Check output device."

I am unable to identify whether it is the problem of the STB or the TV.

Are there any settings that I need to change?

Also the bulder has taken the multi dwelling unit plan from airtel. Hence we have only a single big dish on the terrace of the building.

Can this be also the reason for no audio for NAt GEo HD channel?

Please note that I am not having any issues with other regular channels.

NatGeo pushes out audio as Dolby Digital. Does your TV support Decoding of Dolby Digital Audio?
If not, there should be a setting somewhere in the STB to output audio as "MPCM" or "PCM". Set it to that and you should be good to go.

Surprised that NX500 can't support DD audio. My 4 year old 768p Samsung support DTS as well when its not even documented in the manual.

The problem was with the STB itself. I finally got it replaced 2 days before and now its working perfectly fine.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
