If Qobuz, Tidal or Spotify or whatever else changes protocol after updates stop, the user won't be able to use the said service. Only guaranteed service to work would be Roon as they do have changed their streaming protocol
The eversolo will continue to work beyond the last official update. But once a updates for device expires, software deverlops too stop supporting the device. Example would be the Apple Music app. New versions of Apple Music app will not be available on playstore for the device. After few years it may so happen that Apple releases a new api and the old versoin of apple music app will stop working. On my ipad2, chrome no longer works, gmail app no longer works. Similarly on my Google Nexus tab there are few apps that no longer work.
