Was looking for a thread dedicated to 3D content but couldnt find any :)

Lets share the best of 3D movies and the latest ones, review, download source etc.

Just finished watching Hugo and it was superb, great immerse effects!

Out of few seen recently the Imax "Under the Sea" seems to be top notch experience.

I am still looking for a movie which has LOT of Pop out effects

I don't have a 3D display, but would love to read comments and discussions on 3D content.
I'm falling over to this format and mostly by this year or the next I shall have it.

Best 3D movies are generally from Animation/Kids/Cartoon genre. I feel that regular movies should not be made in 3D because regular movies have a lot of blacks and shadows. The 3D glasses introduce lessened brightness and that hampers the movie experience. Some of the best 3D movies that I liked are (in order of preference):

1. Hugo 3D, Up 3D
2. IMAX - Under the Sea 3D, IMAX - Space Station 3D
3. Avatar 3D (for 3D content only - otherwise movie is crap IMHO)
4. Kung Fu Panda 2 3D, Madagascar 3 3D
5. The Adventures of Tintin

Worth a mention: The Smurfs 3D, Tron Legacy 3D

There are others as well but I have not seen them.

My Avtar 3D is being downloading as we talk :)

Yes, animated Movies seems to be making most of 3D experience may because its easier to reproduce 3D than shoot it?

Both, Imax under the sea and "Tahiti" are the masterpieces!

Tried Haunted castle on somebody's suggestion..its waste of bandwidth

worth it!
though there are not much of quality content available but in coming time am sure people would lean over 3D

Wait for the day when they commercialise naked eye 3D

Imax Grand Canyon....awesome!! both on 3D front and the content wise.

Journey to the Center of earth was good as well, just found it little stretched towards the end. Some superb Pop outs though.

+1 to grand canyon... It was the 1st IMAX movie that I watched & it still remains the best for me... I loved the scene where the camera is mounted on a small plane & it gives u the feeling that u are flying... Suddenly the plane drops into a cliff & it gives u the feeling to falling... Everyone in the theatre was holding on to their seats for their lives :D ... All in all a true 3D exp...

I like Hugo the most, and then Avatar, Bolt, Toystorys, Kungfu pandas, Monster vs aliens, shreks, Finding Nemo, and the yet to released on BD the Hobbit, etc are very good in 3D.
