Hello FMs,

Planning to get a new fridge as I successfully disposed off my old Kelvinator-165 L.

My Budget is max. 30K. Home usage for 2-4 members. Should be frost free. Also I want something with uniqueness factor. So looking into Haier / Hitachi/ Panasonic. Please let me know if these companies make good refrigerators and if I can go for them. If not, then only I would go for Samsung. Although my preferance is haier/Hitachi/ Panasonic.
Please recommend. If anyone owns any of the above, please share your views. That would be great help. I hope I have not posted it at a wrong place.

Thanks,
Saket

Okay, I went for Panasonic. The bottom freezer which is convertible to a refrigerator ( & hence capable of holding items as a normal fridge) feature appealed to me. Looks good too. (BU303SS - 296 ltrs.)

Thanks for the reply.

GeorgeO, Samsung in my experience, is a bit noisy, maybe its only for the budget range 165-230 litre etc.

Although you havent listed Sharp here, but I'd like to share my experience.

I bought this last year for 34K : Sharp

I have been very happy with the product, would recommend it wholeheartedly! I haven't faced any issues and have not needed to move temperature setting beyond 50% even in the Delhi heat! These are made in thailand products and are good build quality.

Thanks Jitu,

Yes, I missed on Sharp...but its hard to locate one in our city. Sharp products are of great quality too. As stated in earlier post, I went for a Panasonic. Its a 'Made in Thailand' product as well & build quality is pretty good. its doing its job perfectly as of now, just a small correction, the freezer is not convertible.
Anyway, Thanks for coming in!

Regards,
Saket

Saket, can you tell me how much you bought it for? I am considering the same pana fridge for my house in Bangalore.

Anything Korean tends to rust, be it a Hyundai or a Samsung. Think the korean models use poor quality steel.

@Jitubisht: I got it for 25K in October '12. Now, after using it for a few months, I can tell you that its a good product and if you are not looking for hi-end features, you will not repent your decision. It looks premium, has unconventional but very practical design and is absolutely noiseless even with the compressor running.

@Reuben: As a general rule, I do not think beyond a limit for making a purchase if its German or Japanese made. I strictly stay away from Korean stuff after a bad experience with LG.

Thanks.

Hi All, I'm planning to buy new two door refrigerator with capacity of approx. 450 - 500l. My budget is around 50 - 55k. Brands on my radar are BOSH / HITACHI / SHARP. I'm interested in BOSH but not getting much recommendations or reviews for this brand. Can anyone please suggest me to which brand should I go from mentioned three.

Thanks

Neither I get too many reviews of Bosch & Hitachi refrigerators but I believe Sharps are very good. You can contact our fm jitubisht who has posted in the thread as well about his ownership regarding a Sharp Refrigerator.

I am using Sharp Plasmacluster for the past 2 years and I find them very good. For the size(height, depth), capacity(500+L), features(plasma, Star rating, freezer space etc) and money, I thought it was the best fit for me.
