Please help me on this:

I've never bought anything from the grey market before (at least not any electronic goods). Can anyone suggest a good, reliable shop in Gaffar market (I don't even know where exactly the market is)

Also, is there a risk of getting a demo/used piece from these guys?

Apart from the lack of warranty, anything else to worry about?

Thanks

I have purchased many products from Gaffar mainly Camera's and Mobile phones (Sony DSC-p200, T-100, HX-10, Xperia X10i, W550i, K750i, P990i and many more).

All are working perfectly touchwood. Same is true with Palika. Once I purchased a Ericsson p990i in 2006 for 13k it still works though I rarely use it. It is made in France same phone purchased by a friend from the official showroom in India for 25k is made in china with a pathetic battery life not even a day.

Most of the electronic purchases than have gone kaput on me were with bill, listing a few:

Acer laptop Survived a year and a day. So no warranty.
Belkin Universal laptop adapter 6 months
Belkin Routers thankfully got replaced.
All my UPSes Powerlink, APC, luminous.

Do check the equipment before purchasing though as well as the accessories.
Can't recommend a single shop though.

Reliable shop and Gaffar Market are a dichotomy. :) You just need to make sure you that everything is in order before you pay them and walk away with the product. Trust is not something you want to do with the Gaffar market people.

I remember back in the day when I would go to Gaffar market to get games for my Nintendo Samurai (NES), Sega Genesis (Megadrive) and Super NES (Super Famicom). I used to have favourite vendors and they would always hook me up!

But they were STILL shady for 95% of the customers there. They were good with me because I would buy tons of games! Regardless, they were pretty shrewd.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
