I have my Dads old stereo amp which I recently repaired and is in good working condition. Pioneer SA-7100. My old Bose AM3 set is just about had it and the sound is very thin. Is there anyway I can integrate it into my new 5.1 setup? (See Signature) Can I use my X2000 pre out to Pioneer pre In and biamp my Rti A5s? or is it better to use my unused Zone 2 posts on the AVR to give a connection? I have almost no knowledge regarding biamp/biwire. Please explain as though I am a little child :p

I plan to use maybe to listen my audio cds or even FLAC/Mp3 through my BD or DVD player

Thanks a lot

Use the Zone 2! Connect the amp there and try procuring another set of speakers to play elsewhere in the house. Let the feed come from the AVR Zone 2, by which I mean, you can locate the amp elsewhere too, with your other speakers. PROVIDED, the Zone 2 is not powered in your current AVR.

the switches and the controls are the first things that fail in older amps. Their solid state circuitry is fairly bullet proof (especially if you recap them) but I wouldnt use their switches too much. There is a DIY Speaker switcher thread elsewhere on the forum

Now I am really confused!:o
