Thanks for the update abt it being multi voltage. Strangely without any knowledge I had assumed it to be so...
@mgdelhi: shopyourworld.com is a much better(more economical and as reliable) option. I can tell you this after having bought from borderlinx as well as shopyourworld. Bordelinx is faster by a few days...but in my personal opinion its a rogue company.

while that on SAMSUNG India website is MRP 29,900/-.

I have recently purchased this model for Rs 26000/- (with same MRP OF 29,990/-) only with free Airtel DTH.

Yep it was the final price..I ordered it a duty free gift for my dad(all in the family!) and evaded the custom duty. Guess we all know that custom duty is not applicable on gifts upto Rs.10k.

have you tested other region bluray?

its a bit confusing some times, as they claim region free, but its DVD region free but not bluray

This is the case with some players, may be this player is really bluray region free

but just want to confirm.

Though I have not yet received the player(it's on it's way from the US vide shopyourworld.com), I understand from discussions in the Amazon user feedbacks that that this one is indeed a region free blu ray player.

Just for all our forum members, it can be made dvd and blu ray region free by the following methods, I found it on the Amazon site itself

For example, here are probably the only two codes you will ever need:
973501 -sets the unit to Region Free mode for DVDs and Zone A mode for Blu-Ray DVDs. This should be the factory default setting.
973502 -sets the unit to Region Free mode for DVDs and Zone B mode for Blu-Ray DVDs.

Codes are:
8751+0+1 is all DVD and "A" Blu-Ray regions
8751+0+2 is all DVD and "B" Blu-Ray regions
8751+0+3 is all DVD and "C" Blu-Ray regions

8751 is the program, the first number after is the DVD region and the second is the Blu-Ray. You can set to play all region DVDs by putting in a 0 after 8751 but need to specify the Blu-Ray region. And like I said, the Blu-Ray will default back to "A" (that's us) but DVDs will stay. There are, however, DVD that demand you have it set up for that region. Had a Disney refuse to play until I set it to "1" (once again, that's us) and a Japanese disc to "2". You have to have the tray empty and closed to input the code.

An alternate code is 9735 before the regions. They both work.

Have you actually received it ? I am waiting for you so I can order from them. By the way they have a call center in Mumbai and you can chat with them if you want. My cost works out to Rs 7400 because the cost has gone up by Rs 100 and I only have a Citi card:sad:

Sorry I missed your question. Yes technically the person sending the gift has to be out of the country(I presume not necessarily in the US).
Hence you gotta put the address and name of a person residing out of India as 'sender'.
I guess it's arguable that the person staying abroad asked me to gift the product on his behalf...

I am not sure when it would have reached the Mumbai hub, but do login to their site and do a Live Chat and take the local courier company contact details and contact them directly. In my case, the order status said it reached Mumbai Hub, and when I contacted the local courier guy, it already reached my city Visakhapatnam. The order status remained the same for like a week even after I actually got my package :lol:

Please update "delivery" when it happens. Kindly clarifiy how best to use the "gift" option. I reside in Mumbai and my nephew is in US. So can I feed the USA address as actual billing & shipping address on shopyourworld and ENTER MY OWN ADRESS AS "Add In New Shipping/Duty Free Gifts Address"

Canduu, I was also thinking that it is a DVD region free. Since this player is cheap is there a possibility of modding it to make it region free for blu-ray
