I absolutely detest creating e-waste, tech waste. Lithium batteries don't last beyond 3 years. Any good headphones with replaceable battery? I would prefer something which can take either AAA or AA batteries. Definitely not lithium ones as they are custom made like it is done for phones. I know such headsets exist but could find nothing on amazon.in

Check out the Sennheiser RS series - they all use rechargeable NIMH batteries if I remember correctly - atleast did in the earlier models.

For reference - go down the page and they have a bunch of models listed.

a video for reference -

I used to have a much older version ages ago, it was pretty nice.

@mbhangui - BTW tried sending you a whatsapp, for some reason they are not getting delivered!

I just got the whatsapp message. I have this wifiauto app that switches off my wifi as soon as turn the phone off. My phone this way lasts a week without charging. You get the idea how paranoid I'm about batteries :) and their life.

Thanks

@chander Thanks for the RS 175 link. This is exacly something I want. Will explore a bit more and will pull the plug on RS175 if i don't get anything better.

I used to use the Audio Technica ones (ATHANC7b) which use AAA cells. not sure of the recent ones.

A note, the RS series (i used to own the RS120) used to be radio frequency based and if they are the same you should avoid it as bluetooth is a much better protocol unless you still have antiquated sources or have to go really far from the source.

This reminded me to check ...
almost 15year? forgot to remove the batteries too. Was good enough for late night viewing - very low vol.
but I think Bluetooth will still be better .

This is what I have. It still works but my tv doesn't have a easily accessible audio out port

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
