Got a tt, need to fix

The wire will be pushing metal clip fixed on black gear from below. Yes C clip is easy to remove and put back. In the bottom there will be odd shape groove carved out in which the black plastic lever moves which is attached to the tonearm. Remember to replace black gear perfectly on that. Sewing machine oil will do. Try to find grease in electronic shop/s.

ok, this was lying with my friend for a while and now i its fixed and I got it back, but the stylus is broken. I need to get me a stylus for this. I found this on amazon and is supposed to be a replacement for RS-33. Will this work? The cartridge is supposed to be ok. Is it very easy to replace the stylus, would some kind soul in bangalore be willing to help me with replacing the stylus once i get it here.

Does it make sense to replace the whole cartridge along with the stylus with something different. Any good cheap options?

Mate - The stylus is very very simple to replace. You can also do a quick view on YouTube on changing a stylus. If you are still stuck, I'm your Blr savior :)

Once changed, please perform an all round alignment for best results.

BTW, what's the exact Model of your TT? You could just try the whole AT-91 Cart, a good VFM cart.

Cheers

Doors666, i use PC-35/RS33 cart on a AKAI TT, i can confirm that the stylus that came with AT92E is compatible with RS33. all you need to do is just plug-in the stylus into the grove in the cart. you could also consider buying AT90 that retails for $15.89 on amazon as another option where you'd get the cart free with your stylus!

ok, I can get theAT92ECD, it has a little better specs than the at90. Its avialable for 19.29 on amazon here - http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT92ECD-Universal-Replacement-Cartridge/dp/B00006HO3L. All the cartridges come with stylus right? I can use this cartridge as it it is by removing the akai cartridge right?

There is no doubt you get a sense of pride and achievement once you have restored these Electro-mechanical beauties to its singing best.

What ever may be the quantum of effort in restoration, satisfaction of doing it on your own is ultimate. With so much of info available on net and such friendly HFV members around its just matter of time that your TT is in best of health. :)

Good luck & keep us posted.
