Guys Help me plz! Lost my Rotel power cables RSP 980 & RB985

Can I use any other power cables of similar watts for the preamp & power amp. In Manuel its given only use supplied power cable. I am scared to try any other cables don't want to damage my costly setup.

The amp says 25 volts 10A 50-60 HZ My doubt can I use any cable having that specs. Or should I use only rotel cable. Kind of silly question sorry just wanted to be absolutely sure coz its a rotel don't want to damage it

Any decent quality cable with IEC connector should work.

Don't get psyched by all the talk about how power cables effect the quality of sound.
Any good quality cable with correct end connectors will work. Look at it as an extension of your house wiring from the wall to your equipment. So a similar or slightly better quality/ capacity will do .

just get a good quality cable. make sure the connectors are solid and the cable is thick

What you have lost is the cable only not the Pre and Power. So why are you perturbed don't worry. Just get the Power cable with the suitable connectors in both the ends. The most important thing you need to see is the wire gauge (swg). Normally for your Pre amp 0.8 to 1 Sq. mm (ie 18 to 17 AWG )for the Power amp 1.5 to 2.0 Sq. mm (15 to 14 AWG ) are much more than enough. How to find the above parameter? Just see the skin of the cable the above data is printed or embossed in all through the length of the cable.

If you are not getting the above cable readily again don't worry go to MX shop in Ritchie Street get 5 Amps IEC connector and good quality 5 Amps 3 pin Plug Top get the above wire gauge cable in required length from the Electrical shop and terminate the above connectors and you are done.:clapping::clapping:

Another short cut is If you have purchased branded PCs / Printers / Scanners / Photo copiers they normally come with two three type of Power cables in the box take the unused ones and use with suitable adaptor for the wall side connector. (I have hunted cable like this in the past and collected all my cables with IEC in one end and US Male socket in the other end ranging from 20 to 14 AWG)

With all this you say you don't know:sad: get the above connectors and come to me I will terminate and give to you.
