Hard disk not detected while using extension USB cable in Samsung 32D5000 LED TV

So the alternative i am using is copying the video files to my 8 gb pendrive and viewing.Please suggest any better alternatives

Best option will be to buy a basic media player and hook your hdd to it. These are available in ebay for as low as 2K.

It is very simple to Detect your any external USB2 or USB3 HDD (in any non branded encasing also) in by changing your Partition table to MBR format

To change a GUID partition table disk into a MBR (master boot record) disk using the Windows interface
Back up or move all volumes on the basic GUID partition table (GPT) disk you want to convert into a master boot record (MBR) disk.
If the disk contains any partitions or volumes, right-click any volumes on the disk and then click Delete Volume.
Right-click the GPT disk that you want to change into an MBR disk, and then click Convert to MBR disk.

and Vola you are ready to go your HDD with any TV tasted with samsung 6400 2012 model and Sony Blue ray player and also most importantly if you use NAS and want to connect the same HDD to NAS USB port then also it works....hyeah:hyeah:
