I'm planning to buy this Blu-Ray set after getting my Blu-ray player.

I'm confused over one thing. Which one is cheaper for online buy ?

Amazon India has 50% off with RS-3999/-

Amazon UK has region free with RS-2457/- = 25 pounds

Does amazon uk provide free delivery across India ?

Which would be less costly ?

I've never bought anything outside India.

Even I have not ordered anything from outside india but this screenshot from amazon.co.uk is interesting. How can the bluray set be even cheaper after paying customs???+Shipping???
Any one can you throw light on this
I have highlighted in yellow the price before and after

Shipping to India is not free on Amazon UK. Delivery is usually via UK postal mail and then via India Post in India. Cost shown on Amazon UK does not include customs duty unless you opt for the tracked shipping option with Import Fee deposit which then increases the cost quite a bit.

The net cost could work out cheaper if you escape customs duty. That however is a lottery depending on which Foreign Post Office your shipment customs clears through and you could end up paying anything from 0% to 40-50% of the total cost(product+shipping) as duty. Search through the Movies board on the forum for Amazon UK, there are several threads with this topic discussed quite a bit. Here's a couple or three for starters

Hi Recently I got this collection from Flipkart...(on 51% discount)
The video quality is good..but i found only one Movie is having DTS HDMA which is good..and most of the other are Dolby TrueHD (i found these disc sound quality not as good as DTS HDMA,{but technically there should not be any difference between this lossless formats}..but i dont know y??)
1 Movie is having only Dolby digital format and another movie is having PCM format (where as on the Bluray Cover it is printed as Dolby TrueHD ).
So my suggestion is if you want to Buy it go for DVD collection in which u will save lot of money (aprox Rs.2000/-).

I got the box set from amazon.uk, a yr back, which was damn cheap compared to those in india, if you keep all your purchases less than 5000 inr, incl. shipping. The listed price in amazon.uk is always with VAT and when we checkout, price would further get reduced for the VAT portion for global purchases

But the quality is not upto mark like the disc that comes in single. You could see minute grains in the picture.

better to collect single disc whenever the discounted price comes to <500 rs.

Amazon.com only charges customs duty while placing the order itself irrespectve of the order value. Whereas amoazon.uk collects the customs duty only when it exceeds the indian customs limit( think it is 5000, as it has been a longtime since my last order).

Just to verify, keep adding some items that exceeds 5000 INR and see that customs duty automatically added to the value. Just try and see. Rgds

That's new to me. However, I just tried throwing GBP 100 (approx INR 10K) worth of stuff in the cart at AMZN UK and find that Import Fee Deposit is not charged when Standard Delivery shipping is selected. Selecting Amazon Global Delivery will add the Import Fee Deposit. So I guess nothing new with regard to Amazon UK and customs duty on standard shipping.
