Yes I have bought it and used with different headphones. It doesn’t add any magic to content that is not originally created with surround Atmos effects. I used it in games with poor surround sound and it sounded exactly the same. Whereas games like PubG & BFV are already mastered very well in terms of positional audio and they work great without Dolby access or any software.

I used trail version of Dolby Atmos for headphones in Windows. I clearly noticed the difference with and without the feature. I watched 'The Revenant' movie with my open back headphones and the experience was immersive and definitely better than normal.
It gives a little improvement in sound effect and gives small virtual feeling. It depends on the quality of PC too.
For good surround experience it is better to go for real 5.1 speaker setup.
This is something I've never considered so far. Instead of firing up the TV + HT system and waking up the neighbourhood, this really makes sense for late night movie binging. And I would be really surprised if there are no real multi-channel headsets with real multi-directional drivers embedded in the same. Definitely there might be some in the gaming world. Would be thankful if anyone shares any details of these.
