Hi,
I m new to computer audio.Mine is a Macbook Pro 2012, with DVI output.On a Yamah A2 reciever, which doesnt have HD audio decoder, what will be the best way to get the audio in 5.1 format. If I use a external souncard, will I be able to decode, HD Master of Bluray ISO's directly and send them as analogue to the amp? Or Still I will have to do some DTS downmixing software to get the output as PCM or DTS? Help required urgently, as I m planning to get an external soundcard.. I dont want to change my amp at the moment, though its primitive!
