Hi,
My FHD LCD TV which was made back in 2011 timeframe is HDCP compliant on its HDMI port.
I have D2H STB model V7000 HDW. When it starts it starts at 720p but soon switches to FHD.

Does anyone know if this STB generates HDCP content on HDMI for all content it outputs?
I asked D2H CC but they had no idea what HDCP means, they kept on saying it's HD box🤣

This comes as puzzle as, a cheap chinese unbranded hdmi to usb capture card that I have is able to capture any live content from this STB on to my PC.
I thought HDCP prevents this from happening.
What this means is either the STB is not HDCP compliant or my card is stripping HDCP.
So is the puzzle. Does anyone have any idea?

Some thread, can't pinpoint now on this forum says only on demand paid content is HDCP?

Hello

May be your D2H STB (model V7000 HDW) may not consistently enforce HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) for all content it outputs, which could explain why your HDMI to USB capture card can capture live content onto your PC. HDCP is typically enforced more rigorously for on-demand paid content or premium channels rather than regular broadcasts. It's also possible your capture card might be bypassing HDCP under certain conditions. To confirm, you could test with other HDCP-compliant devices or check technical documentation from D2H if available. This discrepancy might stem from the STB's settings or its HDCP implementation.

Hope it helps !

Thnak you
