I found this site while researching for an LCD/Plasma TV to replace a Samsung CRT TV that decided to show only the bottom half of the image. Sometimes the Samsung would relent and show the full image for a few minutes when tapped --- initially gently --- on the side. But soon the gentle taps gave way to loud bangings --- mostly administered by my 2 kids --- and I was worried that the TV may explode! A backup 19" Samsung monitor with built-in TV tuner also stopped working though with graceful degradation: first it became a black & white TV, then the sound stopped working!
I found lots of useful information in this forum and so I decided to register.
My interests are music (carnatic, western classical, jazz), programming for fun. Photography used to be a hobby but I don't have much time for it now.
