Hi,

My name is Neelay Shirali and have been a member of this forum for quite some time. However, my visit to this site was rare. Last I visited the site was when I had purchased a Bose Acoutimass 10 series V bundled with Onkyo AV receiver. Had imported the same from the US. Am extremely happy with the product and found it worth the money spent.

I have just purchased a LG 42 LF6500 3D LED TV. I am still awaiting its installation. I wanted to check if members here are using this model and would like their feedback.

Though I love electronics I can hardly visit this forum for its wealth of information. With this new purchase I would be scouting for 3D content and any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Hey Neelay

Congrats on your buy. My first post on the forum as well, though have been a member since quite a while. The LG 42LF3600 is in my consideration as well, although it is last year's model. I believe its the same as the LF 6500, albeit without the 3D feature.

I am also looking at Panny's new range for 2016, more specifically the new 43DS630D FHD Smart TV with 'Hexa Chroma Drive and 'Super Bright Panel Plus' IPS tech. Demoed it at Vijay Sales, Bandra and the picture quality and wide viewing angles are good selling points. No 3d or Firefox OS though. Pricing is about 56-57k

How much did the LF6500 cost you and how's the experience with 3D?

Actually my mom's crt tv konked. So shifted my daughters crt to my mom's place. So was on the lookout for a 32 inch lcd. Was thinking of a cheap LED but the viewing distance in her room is high. Also i did not have the confidence in a micromax or Vu brand. So I gave my daughter the existing 42 LCD and replaced it with this one. A win-win-win situation for mom, daughter and me.
Finally got the LED installed yesterday. The picture quality is great. Not seen anuthing on 3D yet. Will download some 3D BD content and check it out.

Have been using the new LED for a month and I am extremely happy with it. The picture quality is amazing and the youtube streaming is also great. My daughter has hijacked the tv to watch youtube.

I did watch Gravity in 3D. it was good. Did feel a strain on the eyes but I feel I will have to play with the brightness settings either for the TV or for the room or for both.

I visited Kohinoor again as LG has launched the new models. However they informed me that the LF 6500 is still the current model and the new 3D LED will get launched in Diwali.

Roms: did you get a Panny?
