Hello Friends,
I have been using this Denon AVR-X1200w since long. I cant upgrade due to Amplifier Dimensons.
Problem I am facing is NO output from HDMI. I am an electronics technician myself and found that HDMI Chips getting heated.

2. Panasonic Mn864788A
2. ANALOG DEVICES ADV7623BSTZ
Can you advice the following.
Can I get a HDMI card to buy ?
or should I replace the chips and test it ?> 20241002_182357.jpg2024-09-23 18_45_38-20240923_141529.jpg - FastStone Image Viewer 7.6.png20241002_182406.jpg20241002_182401.jpg

If you are experienced / skilled enough to replace the chips then go ahead as the AVR is definitely out of warranty. Secondly most repairers do BOARD level repairs and not sure if you will get this board easily since its an old model. Usually board replacement costs is between 10k to 20k depending on model etc. You can check with the authorised service centers.

It would make sense to purchase a pre owned AVR within budget and which will fit in the space you currently use the Denon 1200.

The electrolytic capacitor looks gone in the above two photos. But i'm not sure because the photo of the capacitor is not clear. Is the top part bulging outwards? An electrolytic cap will have the top part flat.

How do you know the HDMI chips are running hot?
Also, if the unit worked fine for over 10 years (1200w is a 11 year old model), then it can't be heat else it would have failed a long time ago.

I don't know how you are going to de-solder and resolder those chips without a factory smd based solder machine. Those are very fine circuit contacts. Easier to replace the circuit board itself if you are 100% certain it is the chips that have failed.

This is also a standard sized AVR. Easily replaced if you must buy a new one.

Hello. Here is an update. We were able to get chips replaced. We also got video output. But only after the unit heats. Any solution ? I am thinking to replace a few electrolytic capacitors. Please advice.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
