Hi

I want to buy a 42" LED TV. Main usage would be 720P movies thru Xtreamer, Cricket.

Have received a quote for 54k for LG 42LE5300.

As I am in a small town, TV's are not available for display but would be back ordered on order confirmation.

Request you to kindly help me in my decision.

No replies..

I saw in a few forums that LG is supplying both VA and IPS panels differentiated by V & W in serial nos. Is the same relevant in India also..

Thanks

54k is a good price for this TV.
I have seen the demo of this unit and is a good set at a reasonable price.

I initially booked this set and then moved to c5000 samsung.
I would still recommend 5300.

There are some issues reported with 5300. Firstly, it is supposed to have artificial 100hz. Setting truemotion on makes the picture stutter. Also, some light bleed is reported from top...

Any experience regarding these..

I guess most of the LED TVs will have these flaws.
Also, one needs to spend a lot on advanced sets. I suggested LG over other mainly due to their superior panels. PQ wise, Samsung, sony are slightly better.

If PQ is priority, you could consider Plasma?
I have samsung c5000 and except for panel(which affects viewing angle), I am happy.

yes i have read about the artificial 100hz. The use of IPS panel coupled with everything else sounds good on paper only. The artificial 100hz is a dampner considering the fact i am going to get a ps3 as well.

My queries r specific. Samsung c630 being phased out but getting cheaper no LED but PQ marginally better than LG le5300. The sony ex710 is relatively new but i have nt seen the demo as yet. I have been told by many a sony is a sony. Guys ur comments on the same.

Hi,
C5000 has been upgraded in the international market to D5000.

The price is 65k with bill and 45k without bill (Grey market)
