Hi
Airtel HD quality (1080i) is no where near to Movie played 1080p format from USB drive on LED TV.

My Airtel D2H HD STB is showing these parameters.

Signal Strength: 60-65 (varies each sec) (out of 100)
Signal Level: 68-70 (varies each sec)
Signal Quality: 40 (100)
BER: 5.27E-04-6.01E-04 6.08E-04 (varies between these values)

Are these parameter are good enough to get HD quality picture? Or which are the minimum required parameter? Or Maximum we can achieve ?

Do I need Call Airtel Technician to improve this parameter?

Also pls help me to understand these parameters
significance of these parameters ?

As long as you are getting video and audio without frame drop, that signal strength and quality is good. Video quality is not determined by the signal strength/quality. You won't get 1080p video quality with 1080i DTH.

Sadly DTH quality is quite bad. Even 1080i looks like dvd on a huge screen would

Hi

1080p file playback via usb/bdp/media player has no comparison with 1080i DTH..

also at times the movies showed were not always recorded in HD so are upscaled and then transmitted and hence low quality..

star world HD and NGC HD is way better comparison to star movies/ star gold HD for the same reason..

however quality of a 1080p file will never be there for logically it cannot be and it shudn't be...in a 1080i transmission..

signal is just fine.. as stated as long as you get gapless play.. its good

the bars will never be at 100 .. 60-70 works just fine..

You should get the BER of E-07 minimum.
I was getting the E-04 values and was having a picture quality bad i.e. blury.
Later I have Reposition the DISH and gone for two different DISH for each Tuner of the HDR so that the drop with both Tuner working has vanished.

Now I am getting T1 for E-08 to E-09 and the other is E-06 to E-07

Still working on other Tuner2 to improve.

People says that in Digital Signals there is no PQ difference once you get minimum Signal strength req for Display, but it is not True.
We need to achieve Quasi Error Free Level to get Better Quality Picture which is called as Perfect i.e. with no transmission loss in it.
