Hello all,

I am trying to achieve the following, but not able to get complete details.

1) I have old Philips Powerhouse system with two speakers. It does not have HDMI, USB ports. it has all other ports.
2) The raw ended wires of the speakers go into the the two latches (clips_ on the back of the powerhouse (they are traps).
3) I recently bought LG LM 7600 from US.
4) I want to reuse these two speakers and connect them to my Tv.
5) I have HD set top box with HDMI, usb, A/V out, etc.
6) I also have philips dvd player (again with A/v out etc.) It does not have HDMI and USB ports.

How do I make this work without harming my tv?

I am thinking that I need to modify the speaker cables raw ends to Audio out Left/Right.

Also can I take the audio output of the TV set to the aux input of the stereo and set the stereo to aux/tape input and keep the speakers hooked to the stereo?

If the stereo is working then this is the easiest method. Connect the headphone or line-out of the TV.

Thanks. Do you know if there will be issues with power supply (less or more) to these interconnected devices. I just do not want to burn my new TV.

An even easier and mess-free way will be directly plug in the Audio out of the set top box to Line-In of the stereo system. It will just require a pair of RCA cable.
