[Help] Yamaha YHT 196 not turning ON :(

I purchased YHT 196 from reliance digital 4 months back..I was playing my xbox one which is connected to it.. It was ON since morning I.e. Around 8 hours.. All of a sudden it turned Off... And now its not turning on..

There wasn't any spark, smoke or anything.. Now it is not turning ON.. I even connected it to the other power outlet.. Still no power..please help me friends.. I m really worried

This isn't working..upon pressing the said button I can only hear a click sound..

RELIANCE representative took the AvR and said that the same shall take around 7 days to repair and will be delivered afterwards...

I just wanted to know.. If anyone here faced the same issue mentioned in my above post?

You should have contacted yamaha directly. Resq guys are really useless and dont know about high end avrs etc...etc.... Nonetheless, if you are hearing a click sound only i think it is switching on but the front panel display has gone. You should have tried checking if the OSD is working. Hope you get your avr quickly.

Did you check whether the AVR got heated up due to prolonged usage?
For repair it is better to contact Yamaha India service center in your location.

You should have contacted yamaha directly. Resq guys are really useless and dont know about high end avrs etc...etc.... Nonetheless, if you are hearing a click sound only i think it is switching on but the front panel display has gone. You should have tried checking if the OSD is working. Hope you get your avr quickly.

I gave a call to yamaha.. They told me that if u have purchased the ht from resq.. Then u need ro call them as they are authorised to after sales service... [emoji20] [emoji20]

The AVR didn't heat up.. I double chked it.. I dont know.. What exactly happened..

I didn't buy 2yrs extended warranty... Now should I buy that.. They are offering it for 4k?

It can be a capacitor in power supply or fuse.Need to check.

Got a call from reliance.. They said that since the avr is in warranty they are sending it to yamaha service centre at kirti nagar...took my warranty card and copy of original bill :-(

From whatever you have written, it looks like the AVR is going into safe or protection mode. It can't be the fuse else it will not make any click sound when you press those 3 buttons. As it is in warranty, you won't be charged so just wait for it to get repaired.
4K for extended warranty sounds very steep but if you don't want to take risk then go for it. Even a minor problem with AVR will at least cost you 3 to 4k so you may as well take the extended warranty.

Yea...thinking of getting extended warranty... 3999 is what they are asking for another 2yrs of warranty..secondly, should I buy a dedicated ups for yht 196...currently ive been using belkin powerstrip on which I have connected my pc my xboxone, my ps4, and yamaha yht196.. That powerstrip is getting power from 15A power socket..

Have the same problem. My 1 yr 2 month old 196 was letting the picture on the TV, but audio just disappeared. Something about PCM was showing on the screen. Tried every kind of resetting. Finally sent it to Yamaha authorised service guy, but he seems to have failed in finding a solution so he is gonna replace the whole 'board' for about 12k or so. Cant figure out whats wrong.
Is it worth doing?
