Hi Members at hiFi Vision
I'm Chris
I started being interested in audio from the age of about 5, I appreciate the great inventions that have made hifi what it is today. In particular some equipment really stands out, namely the Quad ESL57, the Quad 303, Linn Sondeks DBX type 1 companders and more recently wonderful things like hard disk recorders, and LDR preamps

I love the ethos of free software, that is the ability and the Freedom to use, copy, redistribute, and republish software.

I have designed a LDR preamp that is up on eBay as a Kit,

They are really are the best way of attenuation of an audio signal. Compared to very respected conventional preamps the LDR allows you to hear so much more.

I look forward to contributing and helping other members with audio topics where I can.

Cheers / Chris

Welcome to the forum.

What do you think about Quad 306? :)
Not one I have heard , but the 306 is one of Quads current Dumping models,so amps with exceptionally low distortion are always a good recipe for good sound. The 405 when adjusted with its input arriving at the opamps positive input ala Dc daylight is very nice too.

However the old 303 has for some reason has effortless stereo presentation and is great to listen to .

I'm very impressed with build quality and low distortion offered by Anthony Holtons Fet amps, HPA-nxV200 R2 Signature Audio Amplifier Module and with a 405 chassis spare its very tempting to give these a try with the LDR preamp .

Thanks for your welcome !!

Cheers / Chris
