home theater for 25-30k

I am looking to buy a new home theater. My budget is 25-30k. I dont know what more details I need to provide. Please tell me if you have any template for it.

I live in delhi and will buy a new 40" TV. Room size is 23x15 feets where home theater will be placed.

23*15 ft .. thats quite a large room ... i think u might have to increase ur budget to about 40k.

can you suggest some model, so that i can read some reviews. I may delay my purchase for a few weeks to increase my budget.

I have always used headphones. So, I have very little idea about home theater/speaker/AVR.

For that room size, it depends on the room shape, placement etc. What can help us is the rough sketch for the room. Although if it is a rectangular room with seating in the middle, both the HT's are not sufficient. You require something bigger to fill the soundstage!

yes the room is rectangular. But it is partitioned in two parts. In one partition of 15x15, tv and home theater will be installed and in rest of the room, we have dining table. So, effective area to be covered is 15x15. I gave size of full room since i thought i will matter the sound in some or other way.

I read reviews of yht 299, it looks promising enough. I will try to go for a demo next sunday in some nearby store.

yes both the systems should be good enough for the room infact perfect for the soundstage and will give more room space for sound to travel easily.
specially with the yamaha 299 active sub you'll really enjoy

too small room can cramp up sound and bass
with your room size you'll really feel the difference in 5.1 a lot in good terms
