Home theatre 24*13 cables, speakers.

Hello guys,

Just decided to have a home theatre in my new house in Ahmedabad. Started browsing forums and blogs.. Sooo confusing and soo many choices. I want a 7.2 system preferably. my budget is around 5 lacs for speakers and receiver and pre amp if necessary.

Here is what I have found. There are dealers for Cambridge Audio, Marantz, Denon, Magnat, Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio, Jamo, Mordaunt Short, Focal, PULZ, Wharfedele and Dali in ahmedabad. I think i looked for all good home theatre dealers. I have these options here.. Kindly help.

And for cables I found Cliptronics, DAC. What cables to get

You are looking at big speakers. What is the area you are going to set it up in?

Dali and Polk you have listed are very good speakers by themselves.

Audition as many of these as possible. Different setups will give different flavor. Buying components separately and mixing/matching can make the process tedious. Put the finger on the package that you like and try striking a deal for the same.

Marantz with Boston acoustics, Denon with Focal should be good pairing.

My area originally was 23*13. but it has increased to 40*13 feet.

I was getting a good deal on MAGNAT speakers. Havnt seen much reviews.. but they sound pretty good.. any suggestions. and also i need help on cables.. DAC or Audioquest or Cliptronics or Supra or Monster?
I want my speakers to sound best

40x13 is a very bad room for audio. No matter what you do you will have to deal with a whole lot of issues not a concern is common sized rooms. I'd very strongly recommend erecting a concrete wall and make your main area for this set up 18x13.

No idea about Magnat. If you liked it don't seek others' advice. You are buying the system for yourself I assume. Why bother what others like? Get the Magnat and look for electronics that will complement it well.

DAC and Supra are very good cables, especially Supra. They will serve you very well. If you want ultimate in cables without mortgaging your house get Canare 4S cables. If not, Supra will do.

There is a lot more to sound than speakers. Even not esoterically prices speakers can sound good so long as they have got the basics right and they are used in the correct way.

I don't know what kind of sound do you like. Depending on your personal taste you may find one of Polk and Dali combinations to work for you. I will advise these two over any other for your price range. There are some other popular choices in that price bracket but not sure if you can get them in your city.

By the way thanks for ur feedback.. I changed my room size to 13 width to 28 length and 8 height.. I could jave done better but its such a large space.. j wanted to use more area.. cant make a pantry thaf big naa.. lol. Anyways finally now I am doing the cabling and have couple more months to decide on speakers.. such a difficult task. The more I read the more I want to check out

If you've had 8' H and 13' W, then 21' L would have made perfect fibo series; i.e., Golden Ratio

So i finally ordered BJC cable. Saw a lot of reviews and just made the guts to order it.. Man cables are very expensive I must say just because of shipping. But it should be here in less than 4 to 5 days... so yeah!!
